ANALYST TASK 2

 Hello again!!!!!

This is the second week, and now I have the role of Analyst, my name is Mª Carmen and I´m going to  play it in the best way I can. Do you know what that mean this role?

Well, I have to evaluate the work of my group members, just like my work. Moreover, I must also reflect on the positive and negative points of each activity, what we have learned, whether we can apply it in future classrooms, or what we can improve as a group.

As a team, we have learned how to collaborate with each other and organize work in a way that all of us have tasks to do in our regular activities. Later, as we are doing now, everyone plays an important role. This method is very useful since we are more productive and more effective.

This week we have been doing an activity which consisted of knowing what TPACK and ACAD are and try to find some relation between them. Here you have our poster of this work.

As for the best part of this activity has been doing the drawings, the time we have spent together at the same time we have learnt the different concepts of this task and also  different apps to make original things that my classmates and I shared with each one of us, for  instance, I know one app such as Gocorqn or Genially and I tell to them, as well as, for example another classmates of my group knows what is VISME and she tell to us.

On the other hand, the worse part of this activity has been maybe the difficulties we have had to find the relation between these new concepts and also to find the main ideas of them.Nevertherless, every moment in our group is Good, but if I have to say what has been the best one of the week, I would say that it was when we had to compared and discuss our different recopilation of information, I mean when we meet to put in common our researcher about both concepts to finally do the task.

Moreover, I don´t think that we had had some bad things doing this activity, because all are advantages; we have learnt a lot of new concepts such as, TPACK and ACAD which are very useful for our future as a teachers, because those one support both the learning and the teaching, so those methods are really useful and benefitial for the teacher and also for the student as a learner. All of these things are the ones which we have learned doing the activity at our own.

On the other hand, I have to mentioned what we have learnt in class. Firstly, we have learnt some different and useful apps to use in our daily life such as; Deepl, that it´s a very useful and amazing traductor and in this bilingual degree it´s too benefitial for us, another app is Purdue Online Writing Lab which it´s also very useful and can save time doing the APA style in our university Works. I also remember one page in which you can make hashtags to group all your information and be able to find it quickly, which is hashatit, which the teacher told us the first day of the class.

About the relation of this contents with others contents in the degree or in the course I think that in this case maybe TPACK and ACAD, are related with  Planification subject in the first quarter, since both apply to the understanding of how students learn, how to manage the classroom and how to plan tasks and classes to teach them in an organized way and following a planning.

Finally, 9 March,2021 in the classroom we presented the different group´s activities and at the end of the class the teacher give some feedback to us to improve our work. She has said to us  some advice such as, the different between task and activity, which are that a task is what you create for your students to do and an activity is where reality happens. Another aspect that she point out the differences between framework and model, which is that a framework helps you t osee reality in one way perspective, while the model is used to organize ideas.

Moreover, she explain us the difference bertween ACAD and TPACK; the first concept focuses on the design and is based in how the learning emergent and how us as a teacher situated learning, whereas TPACK is the knowledge you have.

As for the way in which we present the work, she has told us some useful advices for the future presentations, which are, for example, not to read a lot the content we have to say and to have more eye contact with our audience, also it´s important to do the things that she ask for and to know how to answer in a coherent way and not to answer the same she has ask us, I mean to have the ideas clear and to reflect in a mature way.

I hope you enjoy reading every Fantas-TIC moments and things we have learnt during this Fantas-TIC week !!

JOURNALIST TASK 2

Hi! It is Marina, and this week I have performed the role of Journalist.

In this link you could see a presentation that summarise the most important things of the week.

https://www.emaze.com/@AOTFLZTIT/journalist-task-2

Now I will explain how we have lived the week with more detail.

This task has been very controversial because we realised that we had to do it on the 28 of February since it was supposed to be for the 2nd of March (there was a misunderstanding in the group of WhatsApp) so we entered in panicked on Sunday night.

When we decided to start the task on Sunday night, we were not all connected so we divided the questions, one for each one, and in this way, we all had to read the links and be aware of what the task was about.

The next day, 1 st of March, we had all the questions answered and, between the free time of the classes, we talked about what type of mapping we were going to do. That same evening, we had a Zoom call and we did the map and finished the task.

At the first moment, the task seemed to be very difficult but it was because we were very stressed and we thought that we weren´t going to finish on time. Nevertheless, when we finished it, we realized the simplicity of this task.

Anyway, on the 2nd of March, we were very nervous as we thought we had to present it but the teacher said that we didn´t have to worry about it since that task was going to be for the next week (9th of March).

That same week, on Friday, we had a meeting to improve the blog and try to make a dropdown menu but we didn´t get it.

Finally, we presented our mind map on the 9th of March. As Elena was the star, shed did the presentation and we saw the different presentations that the other two groups of our classes did.

I would like to highlight the presentation of the group Happy flowers. In my opinion, their Prezi was really cool and the presentation was very enjoyable. In addition, I love the blog of the group Black Eyed Peers since I found it very ordered and interesting.

For this task, we have used the app Gocongr to do the map as we considered that it was the easiest and the fastest one. I have to say that I had never listened to talk about it before and I think that I will use it a lot to do some schemas or mind maps since it has been very easy to use.

Furthermore, for the day of the women 8m, we posted on our stories of Instagram some of the most important women in the history of education, and we let our followers told us which were their more inspirational women. I let here the link if you want to have a look.

https://www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/18199260052036316/

Finally, I would like to recommend an app that the teacher told us that is Grammarly. I had never heard of it but with no doubt whatsoever, it has become one of my favourite applications. It is better than a translator because it makes you think about the translation but it checks if what you have put is coherent, have any mistake and if it is clear.

STAR TASK 2

Hello! I am Elena Belver Morales and this week I performed the role of Star. Therefore, I will be presenting task 2, in which we were required to gather information about TPACK and ACAD Framework and recreate their features in a diagram.

What is TPACK and what is ACAD exactly?

We will start by explaining that TPACK is a theory that represents the relationship between 3 basic concepts that are: Content, Pedagogy and Knowledge, and how they have to interact among them to achieve an efficient teaching.

The other main concept that we addressed in this task is ACAD. It is a framework centered in the activity of the classroom where we can set conditions that are likely to lead to the types of activities that we find valuable and the learning outcomes that we aim for.

Which are the essential TPACK elements and how do they interact with each other?

Now we will proceed to explain the essential TPACK elements.

  • Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) covers the core business of teaching, learning, curriculum, assessment and reporting. An awareness of common misconceptions and ways of looking at them, the importance of forging connections among different content-based ideas, students’ prior knowledge, alternative teaching strategies, and the flexibility that comes from exploring alternative ways of looking at the same idea or problem are all essential for effective teaching.

  • Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK) is an understanding of how teaching and learning can change when particular technologies are used in particular ways. This includes knowing the pedagogical affordances and constraints of a range of technological tools as they relate to disciplinarily and developmentally appropriate pedagogical designs and strategies.

  • Technological Content Knowledge (TCK) is an understanding of the manner in which technology and content influence and constrain one another. They both have a deep historical relationship. Progress in fields as diverse as medicine, history, archeology, and physics have coincided with the development of new technologies that afford the representation and manipulation of data in new and fruitful ways.

Which are the essential ACAD elements and how do they interact with each other?

Regarding ACAD we must say it is activity-centered and it aims to support analysis and design of learning environments.

The essential elements to achieve this are: set design, which refers to how we arrange the physical or virtual learning environment; epistemic design, which means proposing tasks for students; and social design, which involves making decisions on how people work together.

These three dimensions come together in support of learning and, as a result, emerging activity appears —the final structural element, which deals with acts of co-creation and co-configuration when learners are required to decide what to do.

Emerging activity is the mediator that links the other elements to learning outcomes. Without this mechanism, that relationship could not happen.

How would TPACK be useful for you?

As teachers, the TPACK framework can be a very useful tool. Since technology is developing really fast and is being implemented in every field, it is very important to take this in mind in the field of education. In this century, education has suffered a great change, and in this year in particular we have lived this on the front line. However, we should consider that the concept of technology can be applied for analog and digital technology, the old one and the new one. We consider that a pencil and a software are both technologies.

Therefore, it is principal for teachers to use the TPACK framework, especially nowadays because of the demand of using the new technology in class. This framework provides an understanding of how content, pedagogy and technology interact with each other. Teachers should understand the base of their discipline in order to be effective. If not, students can misunderstand the information and create an incorrect framework of the concept. Moreover, teachers must know methodologies and techniques of teaching and learning, that is, they must have pedagogical knowledge. And related to that, they should have pedagogical content knowledge, which consists of the transformation of the subject matter for teaching, this transformation is different for everyone depending on their interpretations. Finally, they should have technological knowledge, this content is always changing and the definitions of it can be outdated incredibly fast.

Having all this in mind, it is evident that teachers should know the connections between the components and how they interact with each other. Here it is where the TPACK framework takes part. It provides a great range of options of how technology can be applied in education considering the other elements too. It gives the opportunities for teachers to have another point of view of how technology can be applied in education, not just like an “add-on”. In order to be an effective teacher and achieve an effective teaching, it is crucial to understand the TPACK framework.

How is TPACK related to ACAD?

In the first place, it is important to know that TPACK is how the three domains; the knowledge of content, pedagogy and technology work together in a very difficult way to support effective teaching.

In addition, it's also relevant to know that ACAD is an emergent activity, that includes the set, epistemic and social design, that it is what happens at the time of learning when tools, tasks and people come together in support of learning.

Once we know what are TPACK and ACAD, we can conclude that TPACK is close to ACAD because TPACK is produced when you, as a teacher have a technological knowledge, try to transmit to your students your knowledge and knows how to teach, at the same time you have developed these abilities, it's also important and necessary to have into account the environment in which you develop your courses, the tools, artifacts and resources you introduce to support learning. You also propose some suggestions about good things for students to do, besides deciding if people are going to work together or individually.

  • Conclusion:

To sum up, both concepts are related between them, since if you want to be understood by your students and also to provide an effective learning you have to represent technological knowledge, you also have to know what and how you are going to transmit this knowledge to your students, that´s TPACK. At the same time you have to consider where, what interesting tasks and who you are going to teach, thus everything is included in the context of how to teach in an effective way in the context of school.

Is there any important part of the Teacher’s action which hasn’t been included in the TPACKACAD model yet? Is TPACK-ACAD sufficient to understand a teacher’s job?

After having acknowledged all these concepts we were required to consider whether the TPACKACAD model lacks any part of the Teacher’s action.

Personally, we believe that it is necessary to take into account that a large part of the quality of education depends on the quality of the teacher and them having the personality needed for motivating students and responding to their needs, dealing with parents and other colleagues, as well as continue working on their professional career and keep improving their teaching skills.  Therefore, it is not enough as there are other important factors the Framework is not including.

We hope you have enjoyed it! Thanks for paying attention to our presentation.

FACILITATOR TASK 2

Hi!!! My name is Victoria Corredor Argudo and this week I have been the facilitator.

After class, we all divide the different roles. After seeing my role, I asked if everyone was happy with their role and after this, we started working. My group is not conflicted so the work has become very enjoyable.

The problem came when on Sunday afternoon we realized that the task was for Tuesday, at that time we all panicked, because the following Thursday we had an exam. After these minutes of panic, we decided to meet online and I tried to reassure my colleagues a little bit. We finally managed to finish the task.

This week I have been in charge of correcting and posting my peers work. It's been a very easy job because they all work very well.

TRANSLATOR TASK 2

Hi guys! 👋

My name is Maria Camacho and here is the presentation of my role in week 2 made with the genially app.

I hope you like it!!😋

CURATOR TASK 2

Hi! My name is Amparo Camacho and I have been the curator for this task.

I am in charge of compiling the information sources we have used. I have created a diagram with this information. Under the image, there is a link to an interactive image where you can click on it and you will access the information.

To make the diagram I used VISME, it is a very useful app to make diagrams and many other things.
Also, to make the interactive image I used GENIALLY.

JOURNALIST TASK 9

Hello again —and for the last time—! I am Elena and this week I performed the role of the Journalist, that means that I was in charge of doc...
